Why do you need to run at a low speed when replacing a new chain or using 3/8" LP .050" SAW CHAIN in cold areas?

1. Running at a low speed helps the new chain and chain saw to adapt
When replacing a new chain, running at a low speed is a key step, which can help the 3/8" LP .050" SAW CHAIN and the chain saw to gradually adapt to each other. Although the chain has been precisely manufactured and quality inspected when it leaves the factory, in actual use, the running-in between the chain and other parts of the chain saw requires a gradual process. By running at a low speed, the chain can run in with other parts of the chain saw under lower stress, reducing the impact and wear caused by sudden high-speed operation, and extending the service life of the chain and chain saw.

2. Running at a low speed avoids material embrittlement and poor lubrication in cold areas
When using 3/8" LP .050" SAW CHAIN in cold areas, running at a low speed can effectively cope with the challenges brought by low temperature environments. In a low temperature environment, the toughness of metal materials will decrease, and brittle fracture will easily occur. At the same time, the viscosity of the lubricating oil will increase, and the lubrication effect will become worse. By running at a low speed, the temperature of the chain and the chain saw can be gradually increased, so that the material gradually adapts to the working temperature, and at the same time, the flow of lubricating oil is promoted to ensure that the chain is fully lubricated and avoid wear and damage caused by poor lubrication.

3. Low-speed operation is convenient for checking and adjusting the chain state
Low-speed operation provides the operator with an excellent opportunity to check and adjust the chain state. During low-speed operation, the operator can clearly observe the running state of the chain, promptly discover and adjust the tension of the chain, and ensure that the chain works in the best condition. Low-speed operation is also conducive to checking the lubrication condition, ensuring that the chain is fully lubricated, and avoiding wear and damage caused by poor lubrication. Through this process, the safe and efficient operation of the 3/8" LP .050" SAW CHAIN and chain saw can be ensured.
